More Birthday Pics

Seeing as I finally finished the B-day post last night at about 12:30, I forgot the pics from the actual day.

But first...a little background. So, I hadn't gotten much sleep this week, and Wednesday night was the worst night of all. Thursday morning, I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a truck, but I rallied because I wanted Hannah's day to be special.

After a day consisting of a special order breakfast and taking her to lunch at McDonalds, I had a terrible headache. So, instead of coming home and making her b-day cake, I took a little nap. I paid for it later, when I was trying to throw the cake together at the last minute (and it fell apart in my hands, and the frosting I was trying to use to 'glue' it back together slid off because I didn't have time to let it cool).

All in all, it turned out just fine, and luckily, she is the most happy-go-lucky kid on the planet, because she didn't care about any of the things I was so worried about.
Here's Hannah just before we lit the candles. Isn't she cute in the t-shirt she got from the Primary for her birthday?
Here's the disaster of a cake. When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday, she said, "how about a flower...or a bowling ball" (um...random). I informed her I would not be taking special requests (last year I pulled off a puppy cake in about an hour. I know...I'm amazing.), but that I had a heart cake pan if that would be okay. Then I told her that what I was really asking was, what FLAVOR of cake did she want. I wish I had been more specific in the first place.Of course, I made her favorite dinner. Something we call 'Martha Stewart Pasta' or 'That Pasta' if you're PiP. It has a very fancy, Italian name, but that's pretentious, so we just refer to it after it's creator. Anyway...she loves it. And we had her other favorite 'Garlic Salad' (also has a pretentious French name that we don't use) and some garlic bread.
Here the girl with all her gifts. Thanks, Auntie Amy for the clothes...she LOVES them. She got an outfit from Mom and Dad, and a Barbie from Rachel, and a HSM2 cd from Mom and Dad. Which brings me to MY personal favorite moment of the evening......Rachel, Chris and Hannah...all singing " Humuhumunukunukua'Pua'A,
Makihiki malahini-who
Humuhumunukunukua'Pua'A, Ooh.
Hawana wakawakawakaniki pu pu pu"
...yes, Chris...singing right along with the kids. It was priceless.
I hope your birthday was wonderful, Hannah!
